What Is Gynecologic Cancer?
Gynecologic cancer is the growth of abnormal cells that begins in a woman’s reproductive organs, which include the cervix, ovaries, uterus, vagina and vulva. While many gynecologic cancers occur without a known cause, certain genes that are tied to the growth of cancer can begin functioning abnormally due to various factors such as the aging process, smoking or exposure to certain chemicals or radiation. If something feels wrong, we're here to help. The earlier we catch gynecologic cancers like cervical, ovarian and uterine cancer, the sooner we can put you on a path to healing with noninvasive procedures such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
