Helping You Reclaim Your Life
UChicago Medicine AdventHealth GlenOaks offers specialized inpatient services for those facing a substance use disorder. When you arrive at the beginning phase of recovery, we can treat your detox and medical needs and provide the expert guidance and support you need to continue your recovery.
Addiction recovery patients must be medically clear of drugs and alcohol before they can benefit from rehabilitation. Our program helps you through the detox process by admitting you to the hospital, administering anti-craving medications, and treating other medical conditions you might have.
If you or a loved one comes as a patient at the beginning phase of recovery, we can treat your detox and medical needs and provide the expert guidance and compassionate support you need to continue your recovery
We accept most insurances, including Medicaid and Managed Medicaid. For questions about the Medical Detox Program, please call us at 630-865-6331.
About Our Program
- Who Can Benefit?
-
This program is designed for patients who have:
- Spent a lot of time obtaining, using or recovering from the effects of substances
- Given up or reduced important social, occupational or recreational activities due to substance use
- Used substances in situations where it is physically hazardous
- Continued to use substances despite knowing it has caused or worsened physical or psychological problems
- Expert Care for Your Total Well-Being
-
Since we are an acute-care hospital, we can help our patients with other medical needs, such as hypertension, diabetes or infection without the need for a transfer to somewhere else. Our ability to care for your whole health — body, mind and spirit — sets us apart from other addiction programs.
Our team uses medications to address withdrawal symptoms that can occur during detox. For example, those who are alcohol-dependent can experience delirium and rapid pulse and blood pressure fluctuations, which can be life-threatening. Those addicted to opioids can experience severe anxiety, headaches, body aches, nausea and diarrhea. Alcohol and drug withdrawal is a difficult process and is taxing on the body and mind. We understand how to help you feel safer and more comfortable during this process by managing symptoms and providing supportive care tailored to your individual needs.
After a successful medical detox, our team combines inpatient and outpatient services to help you or your loved one reclaim your life. Before discharge, our specially trained staff connects you with rehabilitation providers and other care and support you may need on your journey toward recovery. We also work closely with you and your insurance to identify the best aftercare plans.
We accept most insurances, including Medicaid and Managed Medicaid.
