Key Medicare Dates
Medicare Open Enrollment (October 15 Through December 7)
Change your Medicare coverage for the following year, with new coverage starting January 1.
Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment (January 1 Through March 31)
Switch Medicare Advantage plans or return to Original Medicare. You can't change prescription drug plans during this period.

Medicare Insurance Plans Accepted by UChicago Medicine AdventHealth:

- Aetna Medicare PPO and HMO-POS
- BlueCross and BlueShield of Illinois Medicare PPO, HMO-POS and HMO
- Essence Medicare Advantage PPO and HMO
- HealthSpring Medicare Advantage PPO and HMO (formerly Cigna HealthSpring)
- Humana Medicare PPO and HMO
- United Healthcare Medicare PPO and HMO
New for January 1, 2026, Dual-Eligible patients (patients that have both Medicaid and Medicare coverage) can no longer select a MMAI plan (no longer offered by the State of IL as of 12/31/25).
Dual-Eligible patients can instead select Traditional Medicare (with Medicaid secondary) or select a Medicare Advantage Fully Integrated Dual-Eligible (FIDE) Special Needs Plans (FIDE-SNP).
UCM will be participating in the following plans:
- Aetna Medicare FIDE (HMO D-SNP)
- Humana Dual Fully Integrated (HMO D-SNP)
Medicare Insurance Plans that UChicago Medicine AdventHealth will no longer be in-network with as of January 1, 2026:
- Devoted Health Medicare PPO and HMO
- Molina Medicare
- WellCare Medicare PPO and HMO
If you are currently enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan (above) that will no longer include UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in its network starting January 1, 2026, please review the information on this webpage to ensure you have access to the Medicare health plan to best meet your needs.
Please know that if you do not actively choose a Medicare plan during the Medicare Annual Open Enrollment Period, you will automatically stay under your existing Medicare plan.
