Biography

Dr. Jihad Kudsi is the Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery at UChicago AdventHealth La Grange, where he offers minimally invasive weight loss procedures such as sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass. He specializes in laparoscopic and robotic weight loss procedures, including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, duodenal switch, and revisional bariatric surgery. In addition to bariatric and obesity medicine care, Dr. Kudsi performs a wide range of general surgery procedures, including:

  • Gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy) for gallstones and biliary colic
  • Hernia repair (inguinal, umbilical, incisional, ventral
  • Hiatal hernia repair for reflux and swallowing issues
  • GERD surgery (fundoplication, LINX) to treat chronic acid reflux
  • Achalasia surgery (Heller myotomy, POEM) for swallowing disorders


    Dr. Kudsi is board-certified in Obesity Medicine and offers FDA-approved weight loss medications, nutritional counseling, and long-term weight management.
